Overview:

(Farm Bill of 1985, as amended) - Provides financial and technical assistance to help conserve agricultural lands, wetlands and their related benefits. Wetland Reserve Easement component is a voluntary program offering landowners opportunity to protect, restore and enhance wetlands on their property and offers an opportunity to establish long-term conservation and wildlife practices and protection. Goal is to achieve greatest wetland functions and values, along with optimum wildlife habitat, on every enrolled acre. In many cases, restoration and protection of wetlands reduces flood damages.

Funding Information:

  • For permanent wetland easements, NRCS pays 100 percent of easement value and up to 100 percent of restoration costs
