Overview:

Flexible program that provides AIAN communities with resources to address wide range of unique community development needs. The ICDBG program can provide funding for projects under the following categories: housing, community facilities, and economic development.

Funding Information:

  • Annual appropriation proving assistance to support the development of viable American Indian and Alaska Native communities, including the creation of decent housing, suitable living environments, and economic opportunities primarily for persons with low-and moderate-income.
  • Eligible entities include federally recognized Indian Tribes and Alaska Native Villages, as well as tribal organizations.
  • Allocations are first made to the six Area Offices of native American Programs (Area ONAPs). Awards are then distributed to grantees through a competitive NOFA process for single purpose grants and on a first-come-first-served basis for imminent threat grants.
